As a Coding Teacher, you’re part of the 3 person teacher team (we’re on the look for two of you, while one teacher is joining us from Tiedekoulu) and are responsible for planning the camp schedule and teaching the curriculum for the Kids Coding Camp (KCC) together with Tiedekoulu and Schibsted Project Lead. We invite 15 of our employees' children aged 8-12 to the KCC at the office where the next-generation coders learn programming, make new friends, and play. You use Scratch and Trinket Turtle (depending on the kid’s level) to teach programming and empower kids to create their own projects or games. Your focus is to create a memorable day full of learnings aiming for the little ones to feel the thrill of mastering a new skill while not forgetting to include playtime along the way! Curious to know what the practice would look like? Have a sneak peek at what our colleagues in Sweden and Norway have created and peek into last year’s atmosphere on our LinkedIn!
How about the time commitment from your side? You can expect approximately 25 hours of work spread out between the prepping and execution of the camp. It’s up to you to agree on how and when you prepare for the teaching curriculum together with your two colleagues but please already make sure that you can make it to our office for the teachers' kick-off on Tue 7.5., the final prepping on Mon 3.6. and the actual event days on Tues-Wed 4.-5.6.
What about the community you’d be welcomed to? We embrace curiosity, teamwork, a problem-solving mindset, and continuous learning.
