An Opening for a Data Scientist

We have a new opening for a driven data scientist to join our multiprofessional and multicultural team at Peili Vision. We are a Finnish company based in Oulu, currently expanding abroad, and use English as our organizational language.

In this role, you will work with our large-scale dataset from our ADHD diagnostic test. You will develop and optimize AI models to classify and segment patient data, contributing to the creation of innovative solutions in mental health diagnostics.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in data analysis and AI, with a track record of building predictive models, developing machine learning algorithms, and performing data classification.

What would it be like?

Peili Vision is a technology company specializing in developing neurocognitive assessment tools for professionals in healthcare. We are a tight-knit team of 15 employees with a broad range of expertise and diverse backgrounds, from doctors of technology to masters of arts and graphic artists, and with roots spanning from Oulu, Finland to Chennai, India - to name just a few.

We love working together, but we also enjoy spending time with each other during our free time occasionally. We believe teams with close bonds work best.

We have developed a real-life simulation test to assess human behavior using research-based metrics for diagnostic purposes. As a Data Scientist, you will apply this technology and data in various settings, including creating tools for assessing neurocognitive characteristics. Additionally, you'll work on developing and refining a suite of cloud-based algorithms that continuously analyze data and generate valuable insights.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone who isn't afraid to take responsibility and figure things out independently, but who can also collaborate effectively and understands the mentality of a small company, where helping a colleague with tasks outside your own responsibilities is valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy machine learning models using Python and key libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.

Manage and process large datasets in cloud environments, specifically with Azure, for scalable and efficient data analysis.

Work on the full lifecycle of AI model development, including data preparation, model training, validation, and deployment.

Qualifications:

We expect our data scientists to have technical expertise and proven skills, but you don't need to know everything. You'll have the opportunity to learn new technologies with us.
Preferably a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
Alternatively, strong relevant work experience will also be considered.

Why Join Us

Access to Extensive Data:
You'll have the opportunity to dive into a vast dataset, allowing you to explore and analyze complex information to drive impactful results.

Research Collaboration:
Work alongside top universities in collaborative research efforts, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in the field.

Innovative Environment:
Be part of a small, agile team that's making a big impact. You'll have the chance to take on significant responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects that truly make a difference.

In addition to rewarding work duties, we also highly value our employees' well-being and work-life balance. We encourage physical activity by a wellness hour, allowing employees to dedicate one hour each week to independent exercise during work hours. We also organize various activities together, ranging from sports to dinner outings. Occupational health services are included.
Our company values equality and diversity within the workplace. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including individuals of different ages, genders, languages, cultures, and minority groups.

If you are passionate about data science and have the skills and experience we're looking for, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping the future of assessments and diagnosis and making a real impact with your work!

Location and Salary

We are looking for a new team member to join us for a full-time, permanent position at either our Oulu office in the city center or our Espoo office in Otaniemi. We prefer a hybrid work environment: we enjoy collaborating with colleagues at the office, but also value the flexibility of working remotely from time to time. We would like to see you at the office 2-3 times a week, but the specific days and times are flexible and open to negotiation.

The salary for the perfect match for his position starts at 4,000€ per month, and will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
