Design Manager (Electrical and Automation engineering)

We are looking for a talented Design Manager to lead our Electrical and Automation engineering teams in Tampere and Oulu. These teams are made up of over 15 dedicated professionals. The ideal location for the Design Manager is Elomatic office in Tampere.

As a key member of our new Business Unit Industry’s Engineering Unit, you will provide top-tier engineering, design, and project execution services to our clients. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting project sales.

As a Design Manager, your key responsibilities are:

• Ensure high-quality project production and execution within your area of expertise, including resource management and knowledge application. 
• Take on project supervisor or project owner roles when necessary.

• Participation in sales (technology and engineering support, proposal work and offer calculation, client relations).
• Personnel management and leadership.
• Maintaining and developing know-how in own area of expertise.
• Participation in recruitment process in own area of expertise.
• Participation in subcontracting from own discipline perspective.

What we expect from you 

• B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent (preferably in technology) in a suitable field
• Strong experience in your own expertise area, preferably in industrial automation
• Ability to lead concept design and pre-engineering projects
• Extensive experience in personnel leadership, skills management, and employee development
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Capacity to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
• Fluent in Finnish and proficient in English; other languages are considered an asset
• Willingness to travel
