AI/ML Engineer

We are seeking an AI/ML Engineer with strong data science expertise to join our Data Science team for a full-time, ongoing position. The position is based in Helsinki, but you can also work easily remotely with us. 

Position Overview 

As a key member of our Data Science team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing generative AI applications and machine learning solutions  as well as developing and maintaining our analytics platform in multi cloud environment. We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on developer with strong data science expertise. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning applications, including both classical methods and generative AI. 

• Engage in full-stack development, both frontend and backend, within AWS cloud infrastructure. 

• Contribute to the design and development of LLM-based applications, focusing on RAG and generative AI platform architecture, as well as component development 

• Lead and manage end-to-end projects, from identifying and defining business problems to planning, implementation, and deployment of machine learning models. 

• Effectively communicate insights and findings to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. 

• Collaborate closely with other data scientists, developers, and cross-functional business teams to deliver impactful results. 

Requirements 

• M.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. 

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist / Data Engineer / Full Stack Developer is preferred. 

• Proficiency in data science, including machine learning, Python programming, data visualization, relational databases, AWS cloud infrastructure, and Generative AI (with an emphasis on Large Language Models and RAG applications).  

• In-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture principles. Google Cloud Platform is a significant advantage. 

• Solid experience in productization frameworks, micro-services architecture  and related frontend and backend technologies like FastAPI 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong communication and teamwork skills. 

• Familiarity with DevOps tools, including Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, and Terraform 

• Fluency in either Finnish or English. 

Additional Preferred Qualifications 

• Proficiency in AI platforms from leading cloud providers like Microsoft Azure AI studio 

• Practical knowledge of MLOps practices.
