This position reports to SCM Development Manager.

Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a SCM Development Engineer at ABB Oy, System Drives division in Helsinki, Pitäjänmäki. This position is a temporary until the end of May 2026.

As SCM Development Engineer you will play a vital role as part of the dynamic and engaged SCM development team, enhancing the operative quality and efficiency in the SCM organization. In this role, you will be responsible for driving supply chain development activities, focusing especially on supply chain sustainability. You will ensure that changing end-market sustainability and compliance requirements are followed and met throughout the supply chain. You will work closely with our local and global SCM teams and our key suppliers to implement and monitor these initiatives effectively.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Leading supply chain sustainability activities in the local SCM organization in collaboration with global SCM organization
- Owning and developing processes for supply chain sustainability within the local SCM organization, with a focus on increasing supply chain transparency, considering sustainability at each step of the procurement process, and integrating sustainability into the procurement strategy
- Developing reporting on sustainability and compliance, maintaining supplier compliance, and driving behavioral change to improve sustainability performance in the supply chain
- Ownership and development of other selected SCM tools and processes, leading performance improvement initiatives, and supporting local SCM organization
- Development projects and continuous improvement activities related to sourcing, purchasing and inventory management

Qualifications for the role:
- Experience in supply chain management operations gained through work or studies, is essential
- Relevant work experience in supply chain sustainability is an advantage
- Knowledge of SAP and MS Office tools is relevant
- Ability to demonstrate your excellent skills in making clear reports and presentations is essential
- You are fluent in Finnish and English, both oral and written
- You have genuine interest and passion to work in supply chain sustainability and compliance
- You enjoy networking and being part of a team and have great time management skills
- M.Sc. in technology, logistics or industrial engineering. We also consider applicants with relevant experience who are about to graduate
