We are looking for a Materials Assistant to join our growing team of 30+ talented colleagues representing more than 20 nationalities.
Are you interested in concrete and its innovative application in 3D printing technology? As a Materials Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our materials team, supporting the development and production of high-quality concrete mixes for our 3D printing processes. Your responsibilities will include preparing large quantities of dry batch mix, assisting in the creation of material formulations, reporting test results, quality control observations and ownership of materials inventory. This role requires a combination of experience in or willingness to learn concrete laboratory work, physical strength, and a positive, can-do attitude.
The role is permanent, full-time and on-site in Espoo.
Your responsibilities:
-Actively participate in assisting materials team in hand mixing, preparing test equipment and performing tests
-Carry out quality control and conduct testing of batch materials to ensure they meet specified standards and project requirements
-Maintain and update the inventory of materials and tools and ensure that equipment is well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition
-Oversee the inhouse batch making process and ensure the accurate mixing according to design requirements
-Own the purchasing process for materials, ensuring timely procurement according to project needs
-Work closely with other team members, providing input on material requirements and mix designs and maintain accurate documentation of mix designs, and quality control test results
-Collaborate with the materials team to troubleshoot and optimize mix formulations
-Maintain a safe working environment, following safety protocols for material handling, equipment usage, and laboratory maintenance
You have:
-Ideally a Bachelors degree in materials, civil or chemical engineering, or related field
-Work experience in laboratory testing, preferably as a Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician
-Ability to lift heavy bags of max. 25 kg and perform physically demanding tasks
-Professional English language skills and effective communication
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Excellent prioritization skills and adaptability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment
-Proactive problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude
