Demand Planning Manager

Fazer Bakery offers a diverse range of baked goods, including Finnish favorites like wholegrain crisp and organic rye breads, Swedish cinnamon buns, and Arctic thin breads. Our products are distributed to over 20 countries, with a strong presence in Finland, Sweden and the Baltics. In addition to making bread, pastries, and cakes, we are constantly developing new enticing goodies in packaged, frozen and freshly baked Shop-in-Shop assortments. In Finland our large bakeries are located in Vantaa, Lahti and Lappeenranta, and we operate 130 artisanal bakeries within grocery stores across Finland. In total, Fazer Bakery employs approximately 2,800 people.

As the Demand Planning Manager for Fazer Bakery Finland you are in a key role in ensuring excellent product availability to the customers while minimising production surplus and total supply chain costs. A crucial element in attaining this goal are accurate demand forecasts that you analyse and update with your team of 3 demand planners using the SAP IBP tool. You are also the owner of the Sales and Operations Execution process and participate actively in the S&OP process.

In addition to demand planning, the responsibilities of your team include the replenishment of goods from the Fazer bakeries in other countries (Sweden and Latvia) and from contract manufacturers in Finland and abroad. For frozen goods an external 3PL warehouse is used, and you work closely with the service provider.

Your third main focus area is customer communication and cooperation. You keep the bakery customers informed of potential availability problems, delivery deviations and other unexpected occurrences in the supply chain. You also participate in various steering groups and development projects with the customers, which include the retail chains and major foodservice companies in Finland.

You work in closely with a multitude of internal stakeholders including various bakery teams, production planning, the sales organization, finance, brand and portfolio managers, sourcing and ICT. External stakeholders include the contract manufacturers, the 3PL warehouse service providers and naturally the customers. You will report to Director, S&OP and logistics. This permanent position is located in Vantaa or Lahti.

What we expect from you?

We expect you to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are used to analysing large sets of data and drawing insights from it. Working with people on all organisational levels, you are able to present your thoughts and findings in a clear and concise way. You are conscientious and have an eye to details but also able to see the big picture.

You are familiar with modern ICT tools and an ace with MS Excel. Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) as well as forecasting and business intelligence tools (e.g. SAP IBP and PowerBI) is an advantage. Experience from S&OP processes and fast-moving consumer goods in general is also seen as an asset.

You have good social skills and are able to communicate fluently both in Finnish and English in oral and written form. As a team leader, you coach and motivate your team members to help them meet the challenging goals and high performance standards with a positive attitude.

You are able to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make quick decisions in the fast-paced bakery business. Your experience and enthusiasm are supported by a bachelor's or master's degree in technology, economics or other relevant field of expertise.
