About the Position: Laurea University of Applied Sciences invites applications for a researcher track position (Researcher career track recruitment and promotion procedures - Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulu) focusing on management and governance in the context of organisational change and systemic transitions. This position is part of the Service business and circular economy research program. The successful candidate will conduct research on the role of management and governance in complex environments and systemic change, apply for funding for research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects, lead these projects, and supervise the theses work of Laurea’s students. The researcher position provides an excellent chance to cooperate with Laurea’s international partners such as Pioneer Alliance (European University Initiative), and with Laurea’s private and public sector partners here in Finland.
Research Focus: The global scale of environmental and socio-economic changes are interconnected, and organizations are striving to succeed and survive in this world of complex, cascading, and compounding systemic changes. This researcher track offers an opportunity to explore the role of management and governance, and capabilities required for systemic change and transformation. Additionally, your research will delve into the understanding of poly crises such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and the impacts of transition risks resulting from efforts to adapt to and mitigate these impacts.

What we need from you
- Doctoral Degree in a relevant field
- Genuine interest in developing international research projects in the EU funding and European University context
- Experience in applying successfully for research funding and managing research projects (PI role or similar)
- Through understanding of systems thinking and change management
- Experience in high-level academic publishing
- Excellent written and good oral communication skills in English
What we would also like from you
- Experience in international teamwork and good collaboration skills; project management experience is considered beneficial
- Knowledge of sustainability transitions, systemic innovations, and ecosystem management
- Genuine interest in applied university’s collaboration with regional and international partners
Benefits
Annual salary between €43,000 and €52,000 on researcher track level 1, and between €50,000 and €65,000 on researcher track level 2
