Ampliconyx is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Laboratory Engineer to join their R&D team in Tampere.
Ampliconyx focuses on the production of highly cost-effective pulsed fiber lasers and amplifiers for industrial applications including material processing, bioimaging and spectroscopy. As a Laboratory Engineer you will build and install benchtop setups prototypes for evaluation, testing and qualification. You perform and document quality and lifetime tests and measurements. In addition, you do characterization of optical and electrical performance. You work closely with R&D engineer and physicists to support R&D activities.
You might be the right person for the job if you have an understanding of system design of lasers, hands-on approach and you are eager to work with fiber lasers. As a person you are open-minded, positive and friendly. You are eager to learn and a true team player with good communication skills.
We require you to:

Have Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or other relevant field

Have good knowledge and understanding of system design (including mechanics, electrics/electronics, optics and software) of lasers
-
Have experience and understanding of validation and testing of laser systems and modules
-
Have a full working proficiency in English
We consider as an asset:
-
Knowledge of fiber lasers
-
Knowledge of optics, electronics and assembly of fibers (cleaving, splicing, recoating etc.)

Experience with electrical and optical measurements
-
Experience with quality standards
-
Experience with software like Mathlab, Origin and/or Labview

Finnish language skills

Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent term position. You will be employed directly to Ampliconyx. The role will be located in Tampere, and the position requires working at the office. We hope you can start as soon as possible.
