In the role as NFR Advisory Leader you will be responsible for:
- Lead a team of NFR Advisors being the first point of contact for the business units on matters related with non-financial risk and proactively follow up on resolving of identified risks
- Support and advise the business so they are able to effectively identify, assess, mitigate, monitor and report the non-financial risks identified in their day-to-day business processes
- Monitor that management is receiving sufficient information regarding key risk faced by the entity which are identified and that these risks are duly managed
- Monitor that risk limits are consistent with the risk appetite and with external requirements (Key Risk Indicators, Risk Appetite Statement metrics)
- Monitor implementation of NFR governing documents in the business units
- Facilitate annual Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process with all functions of the Bank and challenge its output
- Manage and develop the Operational Risk Coordinators network
- Contribute to preparation of training material and carry out training for 1st LoD functions
- Assure 2LOD NFR role in validation of new products in accordance with New Products Approval Process (NPAP)
- Actively contribute to reporting prepared by the Non-Financial Risk area
- Participate in risk forums, steering committees etc., ensuring second line of defense representation
- Lead or participate in the development and implementation of initiatives within non-financial risk
- Contribute to strengthening the bank’s risk culture by promoting a forward-looking management of non-financial risks
The Non-Financial Risk Management area (NFR) is as a part of Risk function and Santander Nordic’s second line of defense (2nd LoD). NFR is responsible for assuring oversight and control of non-financial risks. Non-financial risk includes the areas of operational risk, internal control, business continuity management, cyber & technology risk and vendor risk management as its sub-domains.
The Advisory unit is a part of NFR area and is the overall responsible for the ongoing cooperation and monitoring of non-financial risk management in the 1st LoD functions of the Bank.
Competencies and skills needed:
- Strong understanding of the financial sector and the importance of risk management, including regulations, in order to achieve business goals and ambitions
- Ability to simplify complex topics both in writing and in dialogue
- Knowledge of problem solving and process quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, TQM) is a plus
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Proficiency in any Nordic language would be an advantage
Education and experience:
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience, with 2 years of experience from business area broadly associated with non-financial risk management / advisory
- Leadership experience
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, Audit, or equivalent. In the case of a Bachelor’s degree, extensive relevant experience within the field will be considered as equivalent to a formal Master’s degree

The position is based in any of the four Nordic countries. Valid work permit in Norway, Sweden, Finland or Denmark required.
