Market Analyst
to our short-term Market Analysis team in the Market Intelligence department of Neste’s Renewable Products. This is a permanent position based in Espoo, Finland.
You will focus on delivering world-class insight and analysis on petroleum and renewable product markets to a broad range of stakeholders at Neste, with the intention of supporting shorter-term profitability and key stakeholders steering Neste’s business. Besides colleagues in your own team, you will work closely with e.g. Oil Products Supply Chain Management and Finance, Renewable Products Commercial Steering and Margin Management teams. Your analyses will have a strong impact on steering our sales and refinery operations all the way to top management decision making.

Your role in creating a sustainable future
Closely follow market developments both in the petroleum (oil) and renewable product markets, systematically collect and analyze a wide variety of market and fundamental data to identify important trends from market noise
On a monthly basis translate the results of your analysis to a high-quality 15-month rolling forecast of our key petroleum feedstocks and products, which will be used to optimize our refining capacity in Porvoo
Contextualize and quantify renewable product market developments as inputs to the team’s short-term supply and demand analysis
With your expertise, contribute to impactful analyses, presentation materials and drive collaboration with the team’s key stakeholders, including senior management
Support in creating wider understanding of linkages between petroleum and renewable markets, further developing team’s models, analyses, processes and ways of working
The best combination to succeed in this role
Master’s degree from e.g. business, economics or engineering
Several years of relevant work experience from quantitative analysis work either in an analyst house, in the financial sector, or from a relevant corporate or consulting role
Understanding of energy or commodity markets with excellent analytical problem solving skills and a solid quantitative skill set
Ability to draw strategic and business-relevant conclusions, and to influence senior stakeholders by clear and convincing communication in English
Capability to work independently and proactively, willingness to challenge and develop oneself
Advanced knowledge on Google tools/MS Office, PowerBI/Looker Studio and/or a market data management tool (e.g. Zema) seen as an advantage
Other strengths we value
Previous experience in analyzing complex market dynamics and presenting firm views towards the company’s senior management
Existing understanding of petroleum markets and products, and/or biofuel markets, incentives or regulatory schemes
Interpersonal skills to develop networks within and outside of the organization
Responsible attitude with a safety-oriented mindset
