Cloud Operations Director

As Keypro is growing and expanding internationally, we are now looking for a dynamic and experienced Director to lead and develop our cloud and data center operations and the associated Operations team.

As our new Cloud Operations Director, you will oversee the entire hosting and data center operations, as well as technical support for our software products and solutions. This role requires a strategic leader with deep technological understanding of cloud hosting environments (both AWS and private clouds). Also, we expect experience in managing operations and support in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, tech-driven environment. Our new Cloud Operations Director will report to the managing director and be a part of the executive team.

In this role you will:

• Lead and manage the hosting and data center operations across AWS and private cloud environments to ensure high availability, scalability and security of our software solutions. 

• Oversee the technical support team, ensuring exceptional customer support and timely resolution of all technical issues.

• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing hosting performance, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to support the deployment of new features and updates.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection and privacy regulations in multi-cloud environments.

• Monitor and analyze performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to the executive team.

• Lead incident management efforts, ensuring quick and effective responses to any service disruptions or critical incidents.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, support processes, and customer satisfaction.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key cloud service providers and other external partners.

• Manage the operational budget, including cost forecasting and resource allocation.

• Manage a team consisting of about 10 professionals. 

Key requirements:

• Must be able to pass a security clearance.

• Native-level Finnish. Excellent English skills.

• At a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience (5+ years) in operations management, preferably within a software product company.

• Strong expertise in cloud hosting environments, particularly AWS and private cloud solutions.

• Knowledge of common Internet and software development tools and technologies e.g. PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, GitHub, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and microservices automation. Basic proficiency in distributed systems, and modern observability tools.

• Experience in managing technical support teams and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Solid understanding of networking, security and data management within multi-cloud environments.

• Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills.

• Ability to think strategically and execute operational plans effectively.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
