AFRY Future Stars Trainee, Structural Engineering and Repair Design Units

AFRY Future Stars programme consists of summer work and the suitable amount of part-time work alongside the studies. The program includes four training days, which support your development.

During the training days, you will learn important skills about working in the consulting business and finding your professional potential. As a Future Stars trainee you are supported by your manager and trainee network in finding your career path and developing you professionally. You will be also supported by your own tutor throughout the programme.

Work tasks are defined individually depending on the trainee’s situation, knowledge and interests. During the programme you can also negotiate about a possibility to write your thesis for AFRY. The programme begins in May 2025 and lasts for half year to one year.

We are looking for three Stars Trainees to our Structural Engineering and Repair Design teams!

Our Structural Engineering and Repair Design units consist of approximately 140 professionals across seven locations. We undertake a wide range of design assignments throughout Finland and internationally. Within our units, there are multiple groups and teams where you could potentially work. These groups and teams actively collaborate with each other as well as with other sectors within AFRY.

Our work environment is a modern multi-space workplace where employees from various sectors within the real estate and construction division share the same facilities. Our units are composed of a multicultural and diverse workforce with a range of experience, offering support to all employees.

Currently, we are engaged in a variety of projects for both private and public clients. Examples include the Laakso Hospital (LYS project), the Helsinki Central Railway Station development project, the Majvik Education Center renovation project, the Jätkäsaari Sports Center design, and the Malmi School Campus design.

You are a student in Engineering, IT, Natural Sciences or Business at the end of your studies (3rd-5th year student).

You are a suitable Future Stars Trainee for our team if you have:

• Enrollment in a higher education degree program in civil engineering

• Structural or repair design as your major or minor

• A collaborative, proactive, and eager-to-learn attitude

• A desire to focus on understanding structural behavior

• Proficiency in Finnish and/or English

It will be also considered beneficial if you have:

• Previous work experience in the field

• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures or Revit
