Meriaura Oy is a shipping company, established in 1986 and headquartered in Turku. Meriaura specializes in the transportation of dry cargo and complex project deliveries in Northern Europe, particularly within the Baltic Sea and North Sea areas. Our fleet features dry cargo vessels and deck cargo ships designed to transport special cargo. Meriaura aims to be the leading forerunner in eco-friendly, innovative, and solution-oriented sea transport services.

Meriaura is re-flagging its vessel ms Aava VG to Finland and is therefore looking for new seafarers to join its team.

Aava VG (https://meriaura.fi/portfolio/aavavg/) is a coaster (general bulk) trading mainly in the Baltic and North Sea area. Official working language is English and therefore good language skills are required. Previous experience from similar jobs and positions is essential.

General information and positions

The below positions will open from mid-January and onwards and will be permanent after a traditional trial period. Rotation according to 1:1 system, work and leave periods approximately five (5) weeks. Salary, other terms and conditions according to valid CBA. We are looking for two (2) employees for each position.

1) Chief Engineer (Konepäällikkö)

seafarer holding a Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer, less than 3000 kW (Konepäällikkö alle 3000 kW; STCW III/3).

2) Chief Officer (Yliperämies)

seafarer holding a Certificate of Competency as Chief Officer (Yliperämies; STCW II/2). The engineroom is E0 and single manned (chief engineer only).

3) Able Seafarer deck c.d. (Matruusi YT)

seafarer holding a Certificate of Competency as Able Seafarer deck c.d. (Matruusi YT; STCW II/5 & III/4). This position requires certificates for common duty meaning that the seafarer must carry certificates for both the deck and engine department with focus on the deck department.
