Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Project Manager, Modernizations at ABB Motion Services. Our service division consists of 150 professionals across the country. Motion Services division has the leading expertise in drives, motors and generators life cycle management.

You will lead the execution of medium-sized modernization projects at the local level. These projects involve retrofitting and replacing motors and drives. Your professional background could for example be in Field Service, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering roles.

Client satisfaction is crucial to us, and the Project Manager plays a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will serve as the primary contact for the customer and act as an escalation point for project issues, ensuring seamless and flawless service and delivery for our clients. Since our projects involve team members from various functions, you will need strong leadership skills and a willingness to foster collaboration across different teams.

Willingness to travel mainly in Finland is required.

The preferred location for the role is Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Oulu or Pirkkala.

This position reports to Operations Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Managing modernization projects, including creating, updating, and executing project plans
- Actively collaborating and communication with internal stakeholders and clients
- Monitoring and controlling project financials, including overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow
- Supporting Sales and Tendering through early involvement in tenders
- Capturing, analyzing, and sharing lessons learned throughout the project
- Ensuring that projects comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies

Qualifications for the role:
- Sufficient understanding of the basics of electrical engineering, particularly rotating machines and operation of frequency converters in the process industry
- Familiarity with the operating environments of various industries, including such as process, metal, pulp & paper, food & beverage, chemical, and mining
- Experience in leading and guiding people
- Expertise in cost control and monitoring with budget responsibility, along with a grasp of risk management and change management is an advantage
- Knowledge of customer contracts (both project and supplier contract) from commercial and technical perspectives is beneficial
- Fluent Finnish and English skills
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a relevant field or extensive relevant work experience
