Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Power Electronics Senior R&D Design Engineer at ABB Oy, Drives Products division.

Drives Products is continuously investing in drive development and thus strengthening its design organization. Look no further - we have an interesting opportunity for you! Selected person will work in power electronics design group and will be located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland.

Design group members are responsible for main circuit and power electronics design in various product development projects. You have possibility to act as a senior design engineer contributing a new product development project at the time. Role is adjustable according to your profile and earlier experience.

This position reports to RD Team Leader Power Electronics.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Feasibility studies of technical solutions for future development projects
- Dimensioning and designing the main circuit and power electronics of frequency converters
- Specify and oversee testing and validation of components and products, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Creating and maintain documentation, including specifications, drawings, test plans, and reports, for own responsibility area
- Co-operating with subcontractors

Qualifications for the role:
- B.Sc, M.Sc. or PhD in power electronics or related field and over 5 working years of relevant experience
- Experience in simulation and knowledge of circuit simulation software
- As a senior R&D engineer good understanding of power electronics. Understanding of interface electronics and PCBA design process is seen as an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English, Finnish is seen as an advantage
