Your role and responsibilities
We are now looking for a Communication System Specialist to join our team at Digital Systems, ELDS in Vaasa. In this position you will design, implement and commission automation and communication systems for the electrification of industrial plants, data centers, wind/solar plants and utility substations. You will succeed in this role if you are innovative, organized, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Due to the nature of the work and location of the development lab, majority of the work is Vaasa based.
The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid
This position reports to Engineering Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Designing of communication architecture for the control system of the electrical network
- Handling the implementation of the automation systems in the customer projects
- Communication network engineering, communication switch & cyber security configurations
- System and communication testing and commissioning
Qualifications for the role:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from Information, Automation or Communication Technology
- Solid (more than 5 years) relevant work experience from automation and control system engineering
- Excellent English and Finnish, both written and spoken
- The ability to build customer relationships with a long-term focus
- A proactive and systematic way of working
- Possibility to travel (average 25 days/year)
- Knowledge of PLC or other relevant automation and communication systems is seen as a strong benefit
- Knowledge in substation communication protocols (eg. IEC61850, DNP3, IEC60870-5-104) is seen as a strong benefit
