Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for Connectivity & Tools Architect to join our development team. In this position, you will be working with global teams to achieve efficient and secure connectivity and tools architecture for ABB drives.
You will be working in global and international work environment. The position is located at Drive Products division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland.
Tasks include architectural work and hands on development for drive's connectivity and tools offerings on Windows, mobile and embedded (Linux) platforms. You will work with different domain specialists such as system and software architects along with product management and development teams to define and implement required functionality. You will actively work on secure connectivity architecture between tools, drives and automation systems.
This position reports to Engineering Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Acting as coach and mentor to developers in various global teams to advocate good architectural culture
- Provide architectural view for teams regarding proper software design in cross-platform environment, including Windows, mobile and embedded platforms
- Collaborate with development, testing and other architects to build and maintain holistic and maintainable tools offerings
Qualifications for the role:
- Windows and Android platform knowledge and development experience, iOS is a plus.
- Knowledge of cross-platform definition and development of native libraries with C++. Understanding of web development platforms and conventions.
- Experience working with .NET and Android SDK. Experience working with WinAPI, Android NDK and Web APIs are considered as a plus.
- Familiarity with C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Java/TypeScript. Expert level skills are considered as a plus.
- Proven track record of architectural work and systematic working methods, including agile methods and supporting agile teams
