IT Solution Architect, AD 6
1.The job
This call is for someone with a track record of delivering on challenging objectives in a cross-domain area, leveraging strong IT architecture skills, business analysis capabilities and an ability to work in a highly structured and regulated environment. The ideal candidate is a champion in understanding and ensuring alignment across the different architectural domains (data, module, process, portal) and can orchestrate the allocation and development of multiple workstreams across different user stakeholders and contractors.
2.Key responsibilities
The following are the key responsibilities associated with this profile:
As an IT Solution Architect, you will be responsible for:
In close cooperation with domain experts, driving a shared understanding of the business needs and objectives;
Elicit functional and non-functional requirements that can be used as the basis for the development of specific IT solutions;
Actively engaging in the production of all artefacts that help capture the data, processes and information flows required for a targeted IT implementation;
Organize and drive the implementation of projects, ensuring the delivery of IT solutions through external contractors;
Establishing and maintaining good collaboration with the many actors (such as management, external stakeholders, product managers, process coordinators, data governance, contractors) to ensure common understanding, strong alignment and harmonization of work according to the given priorities;
Leveraging experience in Microsoft Azure and other relevant technologies to prospect new opportunities and support the technological choices of ECHA to bring maximum value.

Excellent interpersonal, consultative and facilitation skills;
Ability to build successful professional relationships;
A track record of effective and tailored interaction and collaboration with different stakeholders, for instance: customers, colleagues, contractors, and management using meaningful, effective and impactful ways of communicating;
An analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset;
The skills and attitude to understand business process needs and be able to cooperate continuously with your counterparts constructively;
A strong drive and curiosity for understanding and facilitating the alignment and convergence of conflicting views;
Eagerness to engage in influencing the evolution of how Directorate I delivers IT;
Strong project management and organisational skills;
Ability to manage complexity, bringing clarity and structure to steer the work towards agreed goals;
Capability of mastering and coordinating the work in line with the Agency's priorities and to set timelines;
Strong architectural and modelling skills.
3.Minimum qualifications
Successful completion of a full course of university studies attested by a degree, where the normal duration of university education is three (3) years or more.
4.Professional experience
To qualify for this profile, you must have at the closing date for applications a total professional experience of at least three (3) years acquired after achieving the minimum requirements stated in section 3.
Of your total professional experience, at least one (1) year must be in a field or fields relevant to the work areas mentioned in section 2.
5.Selection criteria
If you meet the eligibility criteria set out in sections 3 and 4, you will be assessed on the basis of the following selection criteria. The candidates who are judged to be the most suitable on the basis of the selection criteria will be invited to a (remote) written test and/or interview. The selection committee will decide whether succeeding in the written test is a prerequisite to be invited to the interview.
Your academic and professional qualifications and their relevance to the main areas of work listed in section 2;
oPreference will be given to qualifications obtained in project management, product management, IT architecture, modelling and business analysis.
Your professional experience: Preference will be given to candidates having experience in functions similar to those outlined in section 2. The Selection Committee will assess the range of fields covered, the type, and level of work done and its relevance to the areas of work listed in section 2.
The following will be considered as assets:
Proven experience as an IT solution architect and/or development team lead, including requirements analysis, data modelling, and software design;
Experience in delivering large scale IT solutions serving complex needs, ideally based on modern cloud-based (Azure) technologies;
Work experience gained in a similar multicultural environment. Preference will be given to work experience abroad.
Academic and professional qualifications, professional experience and knowledge and experience considered as an asset must be described as precisely as possible in application.
