kood/Sisu is a private, work-life orientated coding school based in Kuopio. We are founded by a group of Finnish companies, and together we are on a mission to bring our innovative studying concept to the market that builds the bridge between businesses and future tech talents. Our vision is to educate hundreds of software and programming specialists who will enter the job market with our help. kood/Sisu was launched in March 2024 when the very first student batch started their studies at kood/Sisu. Event and Community Coordinator (Part-Time)

kood/Sisu is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Event and Community Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing our events according to our annual event calendar. You will also plan and organize trips to our partner school kood/Johvi. Furthermore, you will be supporting the core activities of the coding school such as organizing Selection Sprints, partnership collaborations and other gatherings that takes place either onsite or online. Kood/Sisu community consists of +100 students, +15 partner companies, tens of stakeholders and local supporters. You will be mastering the community by taking good care of every detail of our gatherings.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Organizing events and gatherings for both students and partner companies
 - Taking care of the event set up onsite or/and online including technical matters
- Coordinating and managing catering and other necessary orders within the given budget independently
- Communicating with participants before the events through Discord or/and email, and creating feedback surveys afterwards
- Planning and organizing the trips of kood/Sisu team including trips to Estonian partner school and trips to different kinds of fairs in Finland.
- Assisting with student Selection Sprints alongside technical coordinators
- Other assisting tasks

- English and Finnish language skills. You articulate your thoughts and ideas clearly and confidently both in writing and verbally.
- Capability to handle basic technical matters independently.
- Willingness to be an active and fair team member.

This is a permanent part-time position at 60% of full-time, with a monthly salary of 2200 euros. In the future, there may be an opportunity for full-time employment. We offer you the opportunity for hybrid work but you will mostly work onsite at kood/Sisu premises in Kuopio Savilahti where our events take place. The employment will commence flexibly on October-November, but no later than 1st of November 2024.

Event and Community Coordinator will work in the "Koodi/Sisu - A private Coding School for Northern Savo" project. The South Savo Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment co-funds the project through the European Social Fund (ESF+). Kood/Sisu is run by the non-profit association Koodi / Sisu ry established in 2022 by the group of following companies: OP Group, Ponsse, Normet, Kpy Novapolis, Kuopio Chamber of Commerce, Ylä-Savo Municipal Federation of Education, Istekki and Osuma Henkilöstöpalvelut.
