Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Tampere or Vantaa, Finland.

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

Job Description:

The Finance Manager manages accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and implementing internal controls to safeguard financial integrity. The Finance Manager is pivotal in managing cash flow, overseeing tax compliance, and coordinating audit activities. As a senior advisor, the Finance Manager provides essential financial insights to assist in strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and refine financial reporting processes.
Oversee cash flow management, ensuring robust financial health.
Implement and enhance procedures for internal accounting and cost monitoring.
Strengthen internal control frameworks to mitigate risks.
Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
Collaborate closely with external auditors to ensure compliance.
Lead high-performing finance professionals and work closely with external accounting partners.
Requirements:

Accounting and financial expertise: Profound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (like FAS), and financial management is essential. This includes understanding complex financial instruments, consolidation processes, and intercompany transactions.
Budgeting and forecasting skills: person needs to be adept at preparing and managing budgets, forecasting financial trends, and analyzing variances.
Regulatory compliance and taxation: Understanding of local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements is crucial, especially given the diverse geographical spread of a group's operations.
Strategic planning and analysis: Ability to analyze financial data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities is key. This includes providing strategic recommendations to top management based on financial analysis.
Risk management: Knowledge of risk assessment and the ability to develop strategies to manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
Leadership and team management: Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of finance professionals and external accountants.
Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent communication skills are necessary for explaining complex financial information in an understandable way to stakeholders, including non-finance professionals.
Business acumen: Understanding the broader business environment, industry-specific challenges, and how financial decisions impact the overall business strategy.
Technology proficiency: Familiarity with financial software, ERP systems, BI platforms, and advanced Excel skills. An understanding of emerging technologies like AI can be an advantage.
Problem-solving and critical thinking: Ability to tackle complex financial issues, provide innovative solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Project management: Skills in managing multiple projects, often with tight deadlines and across various business units.
Ethical judgement and professionalism: Upholding high ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality, particularly in handling sensitive financial information.
