Currently we are looking for a mechanical engineering oriented Senior R&D Engineer to join us! This is a great opportunity for a person, who has wide experience of mechanical product development and is willing to keep on working with modern product development projects in the future.

Role and responsibilities

As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will be responsible of mechanical design projects together with our team of professionals. You lead and direct design projects targeted to you and offer guidance to your team members to achieve the best possible project outcome. Depending on your background and competence base, you might design for example devices containing electronics, visual plastic parts or machines. Mechanical concepting, challenging modeling tasks and product development of shaped products are in the core of the role as well as carrying projects forward comprehensively, on schedule and according to customer's wishes. We design individual products, new product entities as well as product families, and health technology products, communication equipment, vehicles and production equipment are good examples of products we design.

Your background & Competence

You will succeed in this role, if you aim for quality in your work and have strong expertise and experience in mechanical design of plastic products, electronic devices or machines. As a mechanical designer, you are able to combine the design, manufacturing feasibility and usability of a product with mechanical solutions and take into account the user experience as well as manufacturing consistency and cost-efficiency. We expect that you are motivated by customers' satisfaction and you want to take responsibility of our projects and customer collaboration. Being capable to manage the technical aspect of work is important to us, but equally we appreciate your desire to develop yourself, your problem-solving skills and your curiosity towards new technologies.

Qualifications

- Suitable educational background such as mechanical, plastic or materials engineering (BSc / MSc)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD Softwares, such as CREO, Solidworks & Siemens NX
- Strong mechanical design experience and competence
- Experience of surface modeling and design of visual parts
- Enthusiasm for product development
- Good collaboration and interaction skills both in Finnish and English
- Ability to travel within projects
