Job description:

Are you experienced in technical customer service and happy to travel? 

We are now looking for a Technical Service Engineer for PMC (Paper Machine Clothing) technical service support.

Fabrics Business unit's PMC technology unit is developing, manufacturing and selling paper machine clothing for paper, board, tissue and pulp machines worldwide.

Technical Service Engineer will be working in the PMC Service Support. He/she will be responsible for PMC technical service at key customers, mainly in Finland but possibly also abroad when needed.

This position can be based in any Valmet location in Finland but preferably in Eastern Finland (Lappeenranta, Imatra).

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Technical measurement on forming, press and dryer section
  • Continuous monitoring of the condition of PMC products
  • Installation support
  • Start-up support after the maintenance shuts
  • Troubleshooting


You have technical education and wide experience with paper machines and paper making processes. You are experienced in technical customer service.

In order to be successful in this job, you need to have the ability to plan and prioritize your own work independently.

You are able to make fast analyses and provide technical recommendations to our key customers. You have a systematic way of working and reporting.

Fluent verbal and written communication skills in Finnish and English are required, other languages are considered as an advantage. In addition you are able and willing to travel 100-150 days per year.
