As a trainee, your key goals are to learn laboratory practices and support researchers in every day working. In this position, you will have an essential role in performing material processing and characterization work on laboratory focusing on metals and ceramics. Depending your experiences analysis of the results and reporting are included. You will participate our unique Research Information Management System ramp-up by updating information to system.
Our team, Sustainable Materials Design is focused on powder based materials processing and tribology. We are developing materials for emerging technologies such as Additive Manufacturing as well as solutions for higher energy efficiency.
What your responsibilities as a Research Trainee would include?
- You will support experimental research work performing in different laboratories.
- You will be participate project group work planning meetings and you are responsible performing tasks given you in desired time schedule.
- Your main tasks are connected to work with metal and ceramic powders including their processing and characterization as well as model and component scale testing such as wear and friction testing.
Who we are looking for?
- You are MSc. student in the field of material science focusing to metals and ceramics. You have already carried on basic studies and performed main courses of material science (3+ years student)
- You are willing to work both hands-on in laboratory and participate reporting of the results in written form (both Finnish and English is needed on your work)
As a person, we hope that you are you are open mind and curious to learn material science in practice. You are team player with capability also independent working and not hesitated to ask help when needed. You have also experience to use common tools and doing by your hands.
We appreciate ambition and willingness to learn over having all the answers or skills ready when you start.
