Two Risk Engineers
We are looking for two Risk Engineers to join our global Property Risk Management Team consisting of approx. 40 experts.
If has the largest Risk Management unit in the Nordic Insurance Market. Our Risk Management professionals work in close cooperation with our Underwriting, Sales and Client organizations.
Risk Management specialists work as a team across the Nordic Countries and Internationally, focusing mainly on four areas; Property and Business Interruption, Cargo, Liability and Health & Safety.
Most of our clients are large multinational organizations that set very high standards for their Risk Management operations. Our close co-operation with our clients has provided us with a solid foundation for assisting the industry in reducing exposures to loss. Based on this experience we provide pragmatic, tailored solutions to our industrial clients' needs and their operations throughout the world.
In line with If Industrial’s mission “Managing risks together”, If Risk Engineers consult our clients on risk improvements and develop and maintain long-term relationships with all relevant persons in our client’s organizations.
As a Risk Engineer you will be working with fire risks, as well as electrical, chemical, boiler and machinery risks. You will be conducting risk assessments and client consultations based on Nordic and International standards. You will also participate in development projects within the Risk Engineering area.
Our Risk Engineers help our clients to manage and mitigate their property and business interruption risks and share risk information with our underwriters to make sure we have the right insurance cover in force.
The position is based in Espoo, Finland, however, travelling within Finland and internationally is expected, to an extent of around 50-70 days per year. Working with us, you will be able to plan and organize your work independently and in close cooperation with your local and Nordic colleagues.
- A University degree in Engineering or related field.
- Strong proficiency in hazard identification/ risk assessment skills, with an emphasis in any of the fields – Forest Industries, Power Generation, Metal, Electrical, Machinery and/or Chemical industry hazards.
- We value practical experience of any of the above industries.
- Highly developed social and communication skills with the ability and desire to develop our network of contacts in the market.
- Self-motivated, inquisitive and with a proactive work ethic.
- Good analytical skills and a good team player.
- Fluency in Finnish and English is expected
Understanding and knowledge of corporate risk management needs, sprinkler standards and other loss prevention standards, as well as good understanding and experience in working with international insurance programs is a plus.
