Two (2) Senior Research Economists/Research Economists
The Bank of Finland’s Research Unit is an internationally active and well-known unit which pursues high academic standards and policy relevance in its research activities, focusing on macro and monetary economics and their interactions with the financial system. All our researchers hold a PhD in Economics or Finance and all research positions are fixed term.
The Research Unit is hiring two Senior Research Economists/Research Economists in fixed-term positions as follows:
Senior Research Economist/Research Economist from 1 September 2020 until 31 December 2020 (four months), and
Senior Research Economist/Research Economist from 1 October 2020 until 30 September 2021 or, at most, until 30 September 2022 (1 year +1 optional year).
- Doctorate in Economics or Finance (or expected to complete doctorate degree in either of those areas in the near future)
- Excellent potential to publish high-quality research in areas relevant to central banks
- Experience and a publication record of high quality in the areas of expertise relevant to the post is an asset
- Expertise in macro and monetary economics or financial economics
- Good communication skills and ability to work in teams
- Excellent written and presentation skills in English.
The Research Unit offers a stimulating and international research environment in one of the world's most livable cities. We provide funding for conference travel, access to research databases and high performance computing.
The working language of the Research Unit is English and knowledge of the Finnish language is not required. One can get by very well with English everywhere in Finland. Salary and benefits are competitive with those of other European central banks and academic positions.
