We are now looking for a Trader, Spot and mid-term to join our UPM Energy Optimization & Physical Trading team in Tampere, Finland.

What you’ll do

We offer you wide responsibilities at physical trading at UPM Energy. As a member of UPM Energy Optimization & Physical Trading team, you will interact closely with UPM Energy trading and back-office teams at our Tampere Trading Centre and other key stakeholders involved with especially hydro power production.

You will work on a daily rotational basis in day-ahead trading team and have responsibility for spot and mid-term planning and trading activities:

• Planning and bidding hydropower production

• Planning UPM’s and customers power balances

• Trading in day-ahead and other relevant physical markets

• Developing bidding strategies, tools and reports for future market and trading needs

Who you are

• You have excellent knowledge of the Nordic power market and at least 2 years of relevant work experience

• You have a degree in engineering, economics or finance

• You have basic understanding of asset optimization, high-level programming and EMS

• You are proactive and self-oriented with strong social skills and creative mind

• You are fluent in Finnish and English
