Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Flight operations entail the pilot resources, flight planning, flight competence optimization, coordination of and compliance to regulations as well as operational maintenance and ground operations. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes.

 

We are now looking for a skilled and business-oriented

THRUST REVERSER ENGINEER

to join the Structural Engineering team and be responsible of thrust reverser engineering project duties. The purpose of this job is to ensure and improve aircraft reliability, continuing airworthiness and optimize maintenance cost within thrust reverser area.

We’re looking for a person with solid engineering understanding and ability analyze and consider the business implications of planned actions. To succeed in this position, you need good collaboration and communication skills to co-operate with both internal and external stakeholders to solve technical problems and drive thrust reverser engineering projects forward.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage thrust reverser overhauls and modification campaigns/projects, liaising with internal parties, service providers and thrust reverser OEMs
  • Support thrust reverser budget forecasting, RFP and agreement negotiations as a part of Technical Operations Engine Business Area
  • Perform thrust reverser engineering duties in Structural Engineering Team
  • Give operative support to line maintenance in thrust reversers related issues
  • Review, analyze thrust reverser related airworthiness data and maintain the data in ERP (AMOS)


Our expectations towards you

  • Applicable technical education at B.Sc. level (aeronautical or mechanical engineering or similar)
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance philosophy and principles
  • Engineering insight and judgement to facilitate making rational engineering decisions
  • Good technical skills for writing maintenance instructions
  • Basic cost management and business understanding
  • Strong team-player with good communication skills
  • Self-initiative and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Ability to coordinate and lead projects
  • Fluent English both written and spoken
