Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently recruiting a Technical Support Specialist to join the support group based in Vantaa, Finland who is responsible for the Cascadion SM Clinical Analyzer liquid chromatography – tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MSMS) technical 2nd level and factory support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently as part of a Factory Support team to perform installation, repair, upgrades, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of Cascadion™ SM Clinical Analyzers and Assays primarily in our Vantaa, Finland site
  • Accurately document, analyze and report service activities
  • Timely handling of technical support cases and complaint assessment
  • Coordinate problem resolution and service activities within the technical support team to ensure instrument uptime
  • Cross training on-boarding program to support LC-MS/MS applications and hardware, and delivering technical training programs based on previous experience
  • Work in conjunction with R&D and Spare Part Specialist in relation to upgrade kits and spare parts
  • Willing to travel internationally, client-focused and customer centric as duties may include service visits also on customer sites

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation, software and applications are essential
  • Experience in technical product support, and IVD industry is preferred
  • Experience in servicing analytical or general laboratory instruments would be advantageous
  • 2+ years’ professional experience and a degree in life sciences or engineering
  • Ability and mindset to quickly diagnose and resolve technical analytical problems in a challenging environment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload in an effective manner
  • English is essential while working knowledge of other languages e.g., Finnish would be an advantage
