Technical Support Engineer in Broadcast Service Operations

Job Summary:

The Technical Support Engineer will be part of our Broadcast Technical Support and Engineering team and will work with different broadcast and ICT development, support and maintenance activities. The person we are looking for can have earlier experience or is recently graduated in the relevant area and will be trained to industry specific competence by us.

The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for the coordination, management and execution of proactive and reactive broadcast support and maintenance activities that require a higher level of support that the one offered by the 1st Level Operations.  This shall ensure that the services provided to our customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels. Work will be partly in 1st line supporting customer during live events (e.g. News and Sports) during evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

You will help with Assurance Support activities

  • System maintenance and technical documentation
  • 2nd Level Assurance Support activities
  • 2nd Level Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • System Administration

Key Qualifications:

  • ICT Knowledge
  • Work experience with Windows and Linux server configuration
  • Knowledge of server virtualization environments
  • Database administration skills and competence
  • Some experience on programming (e.g. vbscript, javascript, sql) and web technology
  • Understanding of OSI- ja TCP/IP-model, basics of Ethernet networks, routing and firewalls.
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Experience in AutoCAD
  • Fluent in Finnish language (facing Finnish speaking customer)
  • Good communication skills, English skills
  • Social skills and awareness

Additional Requirements (experience in these is a bonus):

  • Work experience with broadcast and ICT equipment and systems
  • Knowledge of technically supporting TV productions
  • Knowledge of Broadcast Operations
  • Experience on video and streaming services and CDN environments
  • Experience on graphics area, e.g. live and 3D graphics
  • Knowledge of video post-production
  • Knowledge of live sport production
