Technical Service and Support Manager

Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently recruiting a Technical Service and Support Manager to lead the service and support group based in Vantaa, Finland that is responsible for both the Indiko/Gallery analyzer platforms’ as well as the Laboratory Automation global technical 2nd level and factory support.

As Technical Service and Support Manager you have a chance to lead a group of people that work with technically challenging instruments in an innovative and international working environment. Key responsibilities:

  • Manager for a team of six Technical and Product Support Specialists, reporting into the Director Product Management Analyzers and Laboratory Automation
  • Monitor advanced technical support to our global field service organizations, partners and distributors through regular meetings
  • Manage the team’s technical support case and complaint handling including escalations in a timely manner, to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance
  • Design and develop the support processes, service training programs, and trainings sessions for field service engineers
  • Develop collection and analysis of service data from field service organizations and distributors
  • Participate in spare parts and inventory level planning together with Operations

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Technical Manager
  • Experience in field service or technical support for analytical or related instruments considered a plus
  • Professional background in Electronics/Mechanics/Engineering or related subjects
  • Ability and willingness to work in ambiguous situations and high tolerance for changing daily routines
  • Customer orientation – the position requires frequent contact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Readiness to travel internationally occasionally
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken English, other languages are an advantage eg. Finnish
