Digital product mobilisation within Digital Product Development (DPD) is a team of experts creating value to our customers by turning digital products like Expert Insight, for installations into delivery mode and ensuring the digital products lifecycle support throughout the lifecycle solution lifetime. The team supports the Marine and Energy business.
We are now looking for a Technical Engineer to join the team and take part of successfully handing over installations to our internal and external customers. Additionally, you as a part of the team are responsible for improving the efficiency of the mobilisation process through continuous improvement and actively supporting the development of digital products. We offer you an interesting and challenging position in a team bringing digital products to market as a part of Lifecycle Solutions for our customers.
The Team is located in Vaasa, Finland and is the preferred location for the position. At Wärtsilä we take a hybrid approach to location, we aim to be together at least a couple of days per week in our sites with a focus on collaborative work, enjoying each other’s company and re-enforcing our sense of purpose.
In the role, your main responsibilities are:
Creating and managing algorithms and rules for follow up of engine performance.
Quality assurance of rule based algorithms and machine learning models used in Expert Insight prior to handing over for delivery.
Life cycle support for Expert Insight towards expertise centres and other function using the digital tools.
Support and take part of development activities in Digital Product Development function
You will shine in this role, when you have:
Master´s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering/Production management, Data Science or equivalent.
Experience from engine performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Experience in Artificial Intelligence and rule based technologies for detecting abnormal behaviour in equipment performance.
Knowledge and understanding of Operation and maintenance activities, especially for 4 stroke engines.
Understanding of engine functionality
Other experience from equipment condition monitoring seen as an advantage
Focused and can-do attitude, capability and interest to learn and implement new technologies in practice
Understanding of process and software development basic practices e.g. agile
Good analytical skills, ability to prioritize and make decisions based on data insights
Mathematical skills
Good communication and presentation skills
You are a team player, whilst being self-directing.
You are fluent and can communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
