TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (Raahe Mill)
Technical Development Manager supports sales and customers in technical matters. We will support our customers in daily questions, recognise new business ideas and succeed together with the customer. Utilize the benefits of novel steel grades while using them in workshop or in actual use. We are now looking for new member to our professional team due to the retirement. Our international team is represented all over Europe in several locations. This position is located in Raahe, Finland and takes responsibility of certain geographical area as well as being central technical support of Raahe mill specific matters.
Technical Development Manager (TDM) is responsible within assigned areas for:
In this job you get the opportunity to work closely with sales and marketing, preparing activity plans, visit customers from several different industries, implement the strategy and be able to understand state of the art steel products. You will be able to communicate technical features in to commercial benefits, Increase problem solving skills, advising usage and handling of our steel products. You will also assist with handling of claims and report quality problems.
We expect you to have MSc or BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent experience and knowledge. You have experience in steel production or applications or R&D functions. You have good IT skills and you are fluent in English. Other languages, like French and Czech is counted as benefit.
To succeed in this position you need to have good technical skills in theory and practise in combination with business mind-set. You are innovative problem solver with organized and structured approach. You enjoy working with people and have ability to understand, accept and explain SSAB’s overall objectives. In this job you will act as technical specialist at exhibitions and hosting customer visits including mill visits, so good presentation and communication skills are needed. Work includes travelling around 50-70 days annually.
