We are looking for a skilled professional to join our global team in Oulu or Espoo. We have an immediate opening for a Team Lead, Group Controlling and Accounting.
Your role
In this position, you will join a growing team of five finance professionals and report directly to our Director, Group Finance.
As Team Lead, Group Controlling and Accounting, you will have the chance to support the finance function in both hands-on and strategic responsibilities. You’ll be managing monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes, group controlling processes and collaborating with different internal and external stakeholders. We also hope that you are eager to take part in different development projects to enhance our tools and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Group Accounting & Consolidation: Managing the monthly and quarterly consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely group-level reporting
- Subsidiary Oversight: Oversee accounting for individual entities and coordinate with external service providers, including accounting firms in countries such as India and France, who handle local statutory reporting
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of two accountants, providing support in daily activities and fostering professional growth
- Audit Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact with auditors, facilitating smooth and efficient audit processes
- Process & Systems Development: Active participating in continuous improvement of accounting processes system upgrades, including an upcoming ERP transition that involves a comprehensive review of group accounting processes

Who and what we are looking for:
- At least a few years of experience in group controlling and accounting roles, ideally in an international working environment
- A relevant degree in accounting, finance, industrial management, or a related field from a university or university of applied sciences
- Strong knowledge of FAS, IAS, and general tax regulations.
- A hands-on attitude and a proactive approach with great problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and the motivation to act as a team lead
- Full professional proficiency in English
We consider as a benefit:
- Previous experience and understanding of manufacturing business
- Familiarity with the regulations and guidelines for publications on the Helsinki Nasdaq stock exchange

- Working proficiency in Finnish
Expected value of short- and long-term goals
1-6 months
- Getting familiar with DT Group Finance team, accounting processes and tools
- Starting to manage DTG monthly consolidation process and participating in internal and external reporting
- Learning the process for interim reporting, including preparation of group cashflow
6-12 months
- Gaining deeper understanding of DT's ERP and its integration to financial reporting
- Participating in specific projects, such as documentation for transfer pricing principles
- Managing the annual auditing process in co-operation of group auditors

Practicalities
This is a full-time and permanent position, where you will be employed directly by Detection Technology. Starting time in the role is as soon as possible, but per agreement.
This position is based preferably in Oulu, Espoo can also be considered. We hope you are able to work at the office at least a few days per week as part of a hybrid model. Salary in this position will be negotiated individually, depending on the level of your experience.
