We are looking for a
System engineer, NAPCON Services
to join our NAPCON Process Information System Services team in Porvoo, Finland.
NAPCON business unit develops software for process data monitoring, operator training, and advanced process control solutions for heavy industries. We in NAPCON lead the process industry to a safe and sustainable future.
We have a small team of experts in the NAPCON Process Information System Services team. Our team is responsible for maintaining and developing the Process information systems at several process industry plants, including all Neste production sites. We also support the rest of the NAPCON organisation in process information system-related tasks.
The team works with several different types of Information systems. The Process information systems we work with daily are essential real time database solutions for the production plants.
Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are
You will be the first point of contact for customer requests through our service portal and a trusted guide for the end user to a solution
Solving problems for the customers in collaboration with other NAPCON professionals
Performing maintenance tasks related to process information systems, such as system status checks, content changes, and user management
Cooperating with our stakeholders to keep all systems up and running
You will work closely with other NAPCON professionals and the end users of our systems to ensure that process data is available for everyone at Neste. The purpose of the job is to maintain and develop process information systems. You will report to the Manager, Process information system services.
The best combination for success in this role
General level understanding of networking technology, databases, virtualized environments (e.g., VMware), and server hardware
Bachelor-level studies related to IT or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
More important than the years of experience is your willingness to learn
Customer service experience from any industry is going to be an asset
Both written and spoken fluent English is required; Finnish skills are an advantage when working with part of our end users
We also value
Interest in working with process information systems within heavy industries
A self-starter, responsible person who is organised in their work
The position is based in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, located only some 30 minutes away from Helsinki city centre by car. We arrange free, fast, and flexible bus transportation for our employees from Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Porvoo to our office in Kilpilahti. Partial remote work is also possible.
