As Sustainability Manager you will be joining our Funding and Sustainability Unit, which is responsible for the long-term funding and sustainability issues of MuniFin. Your role will be fully focused on sustainability issues in a rapidly changing operating environment and your focus will be in integrating sustainability approach across the activities and operations of MuniFin. This position will work closely with multiple internal units at MuniFin as well as external stakeholders.
In the Sustainability Manager role, you will be responsible for developing the ESG Strategy, internal target setting, long-term roadmap and the implementation of best practices together with the Head of Unit.
The sustainability landscape is quickly evolving and regulation will play an increasingly important role in our activities and business operations. You will identify sustainability trends and master the regulatory framework related to sustainability issues, including the EU Sustainable finance and any implications into our in lending, funding and investment operations.
In addition, you will be responsible for the ESG/sustainability reporting and the development of data management. You will also monitor reporting trends and standards to ensure alignment with current best practices.
An important part of our sustainability work is related to the finance we offer to our customers. You will work closely with our customer finance function to develop the ESG approach on our sustainable products offering and create guidelines for ESG analysis together with the risk management unit. You will also develop the ESG guidelines related to our funding and investment activities.
In addition, you aim to improve the ESG ratings of MuniFin. You will proactively engage with ESG rating agencies to learn where the company needs to focus on strengthening its ESG disclosure.
You will also create, develop and maintain the relationships with our stakeholders in the area of sustainability.
In order to succeed as a Sustainability Manager, you have at least 5 years of professional experience in similar position within financial sector and understanding of ESG related regulation. You also have an academic Degree in Business, Sustainability/Environmental Management or related field.
You have gained experience from your previous roles on ESG regulation, reporting, preferably TCDF reporting and ESG ratings. You have strong understanding in issues related to sustainable finance and environmental impact calculations.
You will have an active role with several stakeholders, including customers and investors and therefore strong communication skills in both Finnish and English will be an asset. We believe that a strong team player is key in this position. As there are several internal projects in place related to ESG issues, experience in project leadership will be an asset. We also expect that you have strong functional skills in using PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

In the recent years, sustainability has been brought in the heart of our company strategy. MuniFin has been leading the way for sustainable finance in Finland during the past years: becoming the first Finnish Green bonds issuer in 2016 and the first Nordic SSA Social bonds issuer in 2020.
