Sustainability Director

Sustainability is at the core of our company strategy and purpose. In 2011, we were the world’s first carbon-neutral postal operator. Today we are leading the way in sustainable logistics with ambitious climate targets approved by the SBTi. 

We are now looking for a new Sustainability Director to write the next chapter of our globally recognized work and join a company where being responsible is at the core of the company's purpose.

Our pioneering sustainability work is globally recognized: being the first logistics company with SBTi-approved net-zero targets, having the highest Ecovadis sustainability rating, and appearing on the Financial Times list of the European Climate Leaders, are just a few examples of that. 

As our current Sustainability Director moves to a new position within Posti, we are now in search of a new colleague to continue the marvelous work done so far, and to build the next phase as we enter a new strategic period in our sustainability work.  

We are offering a unique opportunity to help to write the next chapter of this story. As a Sustainability Director, you will get to drive the sustainability agenda at Posti as an industry leader. You will continue Posti’s work for fossil-free logistics and our targets for people’s well-being with internal and external stakeholders, customers, and partners. You ensure our business continues to grow responsibly and that sustainability continues to be a core element of our corporate strategy. You will be an aspirational leader for your teams as well as a spokesperson for the whole Posti organization and Posti’s customers and stakeholders. You will be the person who inspires, motivates, and engages key persons to make responsible decisions. 

We hope you get excited when you: 

• Lead the Group sustainability & related strategy work by securing we aim high enough.

• Lead the implementation of our sustainability program and create the next one together with the ones who matter.

• Take what we do with sustainability to our business customers in the form of joint business development or new services – and create something completely new for the market, working cross-organization and influencing in the matrix. 

• Lead a team of sustainability experts and a cross-functional Sustainability Forum of business executives, challenge the management team and leaders across Posti to see things through the lens of sustainability.

•  Secure that we all at Posti know the relevant matters in sustainability topics like building competencies and training employees and partners.

• Develop the Group’s ESG data management processes and competence.

• Continuously develop Posti’s sustainability reporting processes (GRI, NFI, TFCD, SDG, etc.).

• Act as spokesperson for media and represent Posti in different stakeholder groups and industry networks both nationally as well as internationally.

Would this be you? 

• Proven track record of impactful sustainability work in the corporate context.

• Strong business and commercial acumen.

• Tangible results of sustainable business transformation preferably from retail, eCommerce, circular economy, or other strategically relevant sectors.

• Hungry to take Posti’s growth to the next level.

• Ability and experience to bring new solutions in transforming market.

• Excellent networking and team player skills and experience from working in a matrix organization.

• Humane and value-based leadership skills and at ease in communicating with all levels of an organization and external stakeholders.

• Fluent in written and spoken English and Finnish or Swedish.

• Experience in logistics, transportation, or retail is an asset.
