Summer Trainee, Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing

We are looking for a summer trainee to join our Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing team. You will preferably be based in Iisalmi but other locations can be considered. A lot of the work can be done remotely but visiting Iisalmi at least a few times will be required. The duration of the work period is from May to early September, and it can be agreed separately.

The work includes project tasks and contacting our material suppliers in various administrative matters in Finland and abroad. In particular, we are planning to arrange Normet Supplier Days for our material suppliers in September 2022. Participating and coordinating the arrangements will be one of your projects. The final decision about physical vs virtual event will be done later, depending on the corona situation. Another project will relate to building the basic foundations for our supply chain sustainability.

We expect you to:

• Be a B.Sc. or M.Sc. student for example in business administration or purchasing & logistics
• Have good people interaction skills, including good communication skills in Finnish and English
• Have good self-management skills
• Have project management skills and be able to work within agreed timelines
• Have the right attitude to work with a global network of people with different personalities and cultural backgrounds
• Have skills in MS Office tools
