Do you have knowledge of material sciences, physics or semiconductors, that you would like to utilize and develop? Do you appreciate tasks and challenges that matter? Join Murata's Process Development team for the summer 2020!

We are looking for a Process Development Trainee for the summer 2020 to support our MEMS manufacturing process development team in Vantaa. Process Development is responsible for the management of equipment investment projects and development of process steps for new products as well as the development of manufacturing processes to improve the overall process quality, yield and productivity. As our summer trainee, you will support our engineers and specialists in specific technology areas and your daily tasks will include e.g. prototype and test sample handling, data and material analysis, as well as documentation. We also work in cross-functional teams, meaning you will cooperate with the product development, product quality, equipment maintenance and production teams.

Summer work as our Process Development Trainee will be full of interesting challenges and possibilities to develop your expertise in our fast moving, high-tech production environment. With us, you will learn more about MEMS manufacturing technologies such as plasma etching, lithography, wet processes, AOI, glassing or anodic bonding. You will be able to develop your skills with e.g. scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Atomic force microscope (AFM). We offer you tasks fitting your interests and skills, and a possibility to see a glimpse of our daily work and potential future job opportunities we have to offer. Working for Murata, you will be developing high-quality MEMS sensors that contribute to the advancement of society by making cars safer and improving quality of life.

What we expect:

  • 2+ years of studies (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in semiconductors, material sciences, physics or similar fields.
  • Interest in manufacturing technologies and process development.
  • Fluency in communicating and documenting your work in English.

We also appreciate if you have smooth cooperation skills, knowledge in semiconductors or earlier experience working in a clean room environment.
