to join our Commercial Operations team in Espoo

The Summer Trainee positions at Neste are now open for applications! We are looking for eight trainees to join our dynamic Commercial Operations team for the summer in Espoo, Finland. Our team of 25 experts is responsible for the day-to-day commercially proactive planning, optimization and operative execution of the commercial supply and sales contracts. We are supporting both Oil- and Renewable business units covering the entire product and feedstock portfolio.

Your part in Neste journey

In your role, your main responsibilities include

• Being involved in the day-to-day commercially proactive planning, implementation and optimization of the oil and renewable product contracts
• Applying the operational processes in executing the shipments by vessel, rail and trucks from contract conclusion to invoicing
• Carrying out operations in renewable and oil products sales and supply
• Participating in the supply chain planning of the cargo movements
• Executing the sales and supply contracts with optimum commercial outcome
• Coordinating logistics, sustainability, stakeholder communication, invoicing and system updates

You will work closely with external customers and suppliers, cargo inspectors and logistics suppliers. Your main internal stakeholders include sales and supply managers, supply chain planners, finance, laboratory etc.

Our team is responsible for operations for Finnish, Baltic, Scandinavian and European customers as well as supply to our Porvoo refinery in Finland. We also work in close cooperation with our global team members in Geneva, Houston, Singapore and Shanghai and Melbourne.

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is

• Studies in the field of business, engineering or law
• Ability to prioritize and handle pressure
• Flexibility, responsibility and independent approach to work
• Business and result oriented mindset
• Prior experience in international commodity business and/or logistics
• Fluent English and Finnish skills, both written and oral

We also value

• Fluency in Swedish or Russian
• Previous knowledge of ERP-systems (e.g. SAP)
• Experience of working with customers
• Ability to be available for calls outside office hours
• Good sense of humor and innovative approach to support team well-being

Your salary will be determined based on the complexity of the task, the skills and experience required for the job, your relevant previous working experience and the number of course credits you have from your studies.

The planned time period of the traineeship is between May and September 2022.

The summer job recruitment process may include a video interview at the pre-selection stage and – if you are invited to participate further in the selection procedure – a face-to face interview in Espoo. Depending on the situations, some of these may be arranged virtually.
