We are looking for a Summer Trainee to join our Legal team to support the daily work of the global Legal team. As our trainee, you will be working together with different Legal specialist teams depending on your interests and previous experience. 

Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future

• Assist Legal team members with their daily tasks in a wide range of legal and compliance questions;

• Handle contract drafting and negotiation, compliance matters and advising business on various legal questions; and

• Work closely with Neste’s Legal Counsels to strengthen Neste’s Legal team and also in direct contact with our business and stakeholders. 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to be motivated to learn, and enjoy working with a team for which safety, sustainability and professionalism are key elements of work. Additionally, we see that the best combination of experiences, skills and background in this position would be:

• Legal studies, currently at the early, mid or final stage of your studies at university

• Previous work experience in the legal industry (in house or business law firm) demonstrating ability to carry out work independently in a fast-paced professional environment

• Motivated, responsible and independent approach to your work

• Previous knowledge or genuine interest in the company’s field of operation

• Attention to detail

• Good negotiation and communication skills; team player attitude

• Good language skills; fluent English and Finnish, written and spoken, knowledge in any other language is considered an asset

We will support you in your work and provide you with an opportunity to learn and to experience working in the legal function of an international company.

Your salary will be determined based on  the job and its requirements, your relevant previous working experience and the number of course credits you have from your studies. For some roles, the recruitment process may include a health check and drug test. The planned time period of the traineeship is from May 2023 until the end of September 2023 on a full-time basis. Please indicate if you would be interested in continuing with us during the fall 2023 (on a part-time basis).
