Summer Trainee, Legal Trainee

We are now looking for a Legal Trainee to join our Legal Team in Helsinki, Finland, for a fixed term position (preferably from April/May to August/September 2023).

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for and assist legal team members in versatile assignments, including:

• Supporting UPM’s business areas and group functions in various contract law related engagements and contracting process development;

• Assist in legal tech related tasks and projects;

• Assist in other tasks in the legal function, such as data collection, preparation of background materials and acting as back-up for our legal professionals.   

Who you are

We are looking for a person with positive attitude, service-oriented mindset and genuine interest to learn and grow as legal professional.

• Studies in law, with approx. 50-75% of the studies completed.

• Excellent English skills, written and oral. Also least basic Finnish language skills are needed.

Earlier work experience is not a must but following is seen an asset:

• Earlier work experience in law firm, authority’s office or in-house law department.

• Earlier knowledge/studies in contract law and/or legal tech is highly appreciated.

• The position will be further tailored depending on the chosen candidate’s background
