Summer Trainee, IT Service Management Office, SMO

As a Summer Trainee, Information Technology in Espoo, you will work on many small projects that are focusing on implementing and incrementally improving the new service management data model for Metso Outotec IT. You will be coordinating the activities focusing on improving the features and functionalities needed for the selected data model.

A new data model is being implemented in our IT Service Management tool, ServiceNow. You are expected to learn to use the tool yourself, learn the data model, run reports and discuss the improvement progress and possible issues with your network. The network includes your own team and multiple cross-functional IT teams on many ends of the world. Your job is also to make sure stakeholders are seeing the value of the data model and are willing to use and develop our service management tools.

You will be assigned to IT Service Asset and Configuration Management team, and you will get your hands on many different tasks supporting configuration management. Many of the tasks require good communication and presentation skills as well as common sense and logical thinking.

You will also be assisting the IT Service Management Process and Ways of working function in defining and developing processes and use cases needed for the new data model itself, but also other processes that are managed by SMO to enable well-functioning and streamlined IT services for all our infrastructure users as well as for business service users.

To succeed you have good interpersonal skills, excellent English skills, logical thinking, and persistence.  Understanding IT service management, project management, and IT process management methodologies or frameworks are beneficial in this job, but not mandatory as these skills will be developed during the training period. You will need to have good IT skills although this position is not technical. This position is good for a university or college student-oriented in business administration, information management, IT technologies, or similar.

Duration will be 4 months from May to August 2023 or as agreed and the location is Espoo.

The exact monthly salary for each role is based on the candidate's number of completed academic credits and job location.
