Summer Trainee, IT Business Applications
We are now looking for multiple Summer Trainees to join Neste IT’s business applications teams. The positions are located in Keilaranta, Espoo.
IT business applications teams builds and maintains IT solutions for whole Neste in all business areas and for common functions. Applications vary from web applications to integrated ERPs and from supply chain process to invoicing process.
Your responsibilities for the summer job
- Supporting tasks in IT development or in maintenance
- Cleansing and correcting CMDB data
- Application documentation and archiving activities
- Other IT project and technology related tasks
Tasks specific to the data science area:
- Machine learning pipeline: data feature/variable investigation activities for modelling, including e.g. text variables, image variables and time series variables.
- Application testing according to test plan (incl. documenting)
- Data cleaning activities for migrations
You will work closely with IT and business colleagues to support IT development and maintenance.
The keys to success in the summer job
Hunger for learning and sharing new ideas will be the cornerstone of your summer success. We are looking for candidates with proactive and enthusiastic approach to work in our IT department. You are e.g. a technology student within digital systems, data science or computer science. Good command of English is required in all positions. We also value people for whom safety and sustainability are part of their professional skills.
Basic knowledge of application development, project work or IT Service Management will help you to succeed in your work. Neste uses Google office tools so knowledge of Google applications, such as Sheets, Drive, Gmail, etc is appreciated.
For data science area a person with some basic background on descriptive statistics and data wrangling would be an ideal candidate. Basic knowledge of project work will help you to succeed in your work. Any experience with scripting languages (python, R or similar) will be a great asset.
You can also be a student of certain business area or process e.g. logistics, industrial engineering and management, economics, reporting etc.

Your salary will be determined based on the complexity of the task, the skills and experience required for the job, your relevant previous working experience and the number of course credits you have from your studies. Summer job takes place in Espoo.
