Summer Trainee: Datacenter DevOps Engineer

I am Jorge Santos, leader of NWS Datacenter unit. We are now  looking for a forward-leaning Datacenter DevOps Engineer for the summer 2023 (1.6. – 31.8.2023). Your location will be Helsinki.

As Datacenter DevOps Engineer, you will work in a team of mixed competences with end-to-end responsibility for a given domain. The unit is responsible for operations including delivery, incident and change management on Telia IT’s physical hardware. Datacenter strategy, roadmaps, related buildouts, and process development are part of the responsibility as well. Since unit’s responsibilities being in Nordics/Baltics, you would have colleagues in different countries, but would mainly work in Helsinki area in the reactive/proactive part of the work. Our unit is working in a DevOps way of working.

You would start working on IT hardware (server, network, etc. equipment) physical installation including mounting, cabling, documenting and basic configuration. Hardware related incident and change and problem management are part of the work as well. While naturally growing and by getting more familiar with the landscape, you would work with capacity, supplier management and roadmaps but also developing the ways of working.

We expect you to have

• Some experience in working in datacenters. Experience in working with one of following vendors is a plus (Cisco, DELL, HPE and Vmware)
• Some experience in working with IT equipment (servers, network etc.)
• Forward thinking and open mindset
• Knowledge of at least one of the following Automation Technologies; Python scripting, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform
