Summer Power - Business Administration and HR

This summer we are hiring 500 students from all technical and business fields to work with us in different positions, most of which are located in Vaasa. Other possible locations are Helsinki and Turku.

In Summer Power - Business Administration we offer general business related, commercial tasks with either Support Functions, Marine Business or Energy Business in Finland. 

In Human Resources (HR) our Role is to act as a trusted partner to continuously develop our organization and people to attain Wärtsilä´s goals. We develop, implement and deploy processes, systems and tools which will help us to attract, develop and retain the best talents. Our HR consists of several functions such as Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Employer Branding and HR Specialist work related to contracts, HR systems and reporting.

All work for Business Administration and Human Resources, is guided by the Wärtsilä purpose and our visions of the future. You will work under task related targets, quality standards and guidelines with the support of experienced colleagues. As a trainee you will be in contact with different stakeholders, both internal and external, which is why good communication skills are important. Continuous development and innovation are a part of our culture, so you will also get the chance to help us develop our operations within your responsibility area. 

You will have independent work responsibilities but also support your team in daily work and reporting. More specific tasks will be determined by your field of study, interest and the function you are chosen for.


We are looking for motivated proactive students with a “can-do” attitude and interest for analytical and operational work. We value team players with the ability to cooperate in a multicultural environment.

As an ideal candidate you have 

•    On-going studies in a relevant field (B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent) 
•    Working fluency in English, both written and spoken 
•    Good communication skills
•    A proactive, customer service mindset
•    Positive change management attitude
•    Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
•    Target and result oriented attitude


Seen as a benefit:

•    SAP knowledge
•    Additional language skills
•    Strong skills in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
•    Experience from data management 

Some of the positions may have Finnish or Swedish as language requirements, so please remember to mention your language skills and proficiency levels in your CV.
