We are looking for a data analyst trainee to join a dynamic and agile analytics team in our Salmisaari headquarter as a summer trainee. You will be working in Forest Division and you will report to Head of Forest Data Services, Rami Lahti.

As a Data analyst trainee your tasks will be:
• data analysis and reporting for the needs of different stages of the wood supply chain
• defining reporting needs together with the users and other stakeholders
• report maintenance and user support

Who are we looking for?
In order to succeed in this role, you have:
• ongoing university studies suitable for the job (eg information science, statistics, forest science, economics or other commercial or engineering degree)
• you should be able to write SQL queries independently and understand basics of relational databases
• experience in using Power BI (or Tableau, Qlikview, etc.) or advanced excel skills
• knowledge of coding in any code language is a plus (e.g. Python, R)
• motivation and desire to develop into a top expert in data analytics
As a person, you have a positive attitude, and you are committed to develop yourself and your work forward. You enjoy solving problems and you can analyze datasets, turn analysis into reports and promote improvements based on your findings.
We will train and support you to get you comfortably started with your tasks, but we also value, if you can contribute after a few months.
