User support trainee (Espoo or Kajaani)
You will work as part of our distributed LUMI user support team (top HPC specialists from nine consortium countries) that handles the support requests from the LUMI users. In addition, the user support team maintains and develops LUMI's scientific software portfolio (with the help of EasyBuild), delivers user training and prepares user documentation. In the LUMI user support team you will be at the forefront of the European supercomputing! You should have a strong interest in supercomputing and supporting scientists. While programming experience is not necessary, essential Linux skills would be an asset.
Quantum computing trainee (Espoo)
Your tasks include studying and/or developing example quantum algorithms for show-case and training purposes. You would work with state-of-the-art technology, including LUMI, the fastest supercomputer in Europe, quantum computers connected to LUMI, and Kvasi, an advanced quantum computer emulator. Programming experience in, for example, a Jupyter notebook environment is an asset but not necessary. Interest in quantum computing and future technologies is a prerequisite: if you are eager to learn, keen to share your enthusiasm, and keep up with the latest in emerging computing technology, this job suits you! The job description is finalised according to the skills, knowledge, and interests of the successful applicant. Finnish language skills are not required.

Our summer trainees usually work from May to August, but other dates are also possible. The duration is usually 3-4 months. The workplaces are located either in Keilaniemi (Espoo) or in Kajaani.
