Summer Intern – Embedded Software Engineer

As Summer Intern – Embedded Software Engineer you will be part of our Embedded Software team and work on the design, implementation, and testing of our measurement and wireless technologies with access to world-class engineering facilities. You will be at the core of our mission to create advanced and reliable sensors for novel patient monitoring systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Your main responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain embedded software related to data acquisition, signal processing, physiological measurement algorithms, and wireless communication.

  • Develop, improve, and follow well established principles for building robust and high-quality software products that are efficient and easy to maintain.

  • Develop the test frameworks and test cases and look for continuous improvements by analyzing the data from test results.

  • Teamwork in Agile SW teams. Collaborating with other teams and partner organizations locally and off site.


  • 3rd year or higher in Engineering or Science studies.

  • Experience with C/C++ programming for embedded systems.

  • Good understanding of low-level embedded hardware, peripherals, drivers, low-power optimizations, and real time operating systems.

  • Open and curious mindset willing to approach cutting-edge technology challenges.

  • Team player attitude and good collaboration skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

  • EU work permit.

Desired Characteristics

  • Understanding of measurement technologies, and technologies for continuous data acquisition.

  • Experience with wireless technologies, network protocols, and RF analysis tools.

  • Familiar with Agile software development methods.

  • Experience with embedded systems automated testing.

  • Experience with Python programming and Robot Framework.

  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting.

  • Experience with version control systems like Git, code review tools and the practice of continuous integration
