Sourcing Manager

Murata Finland is developing leading edge gyroscope and accelerometer safety-critical sensors for global automotive, industrial and healthcare markets. We are currently strengthening Strategic Sourcing team in Murata Finland. Therefore, we are looking for a strategic Sourcing Manager for ASIC area to join our Sourcing team in Vantaa.

In this role, you are part of our Strategic Sourcing team, who is responsible for managing the supplier portfolio to ensure the portfolio's ability to support the company's goals both in short- and long term. The team is comprised of 5 professionals, and everyone has their own area of responsibility.

Key responsibility areas of the Strategic Sourcing team are developing and executing the sourcing strategy and maintaining supplier relationships. This work includes new supplier selection, development of existing suppliers, price negotiations and cost management, ensuring material availability and contractual matters. The task of the team is to ensure the cost- competitiveness of the services and materials purchased, as well as the timely availability of materials for production over the lifetime. In this position, you will have an opportunity to work in a truly cross-functional role with wide visibility and develop further in commercial activities and strategic management of suppliers.

Your role responsibilities and key activities:

• Responsible for sourcing in ASIC area
• Responsible for the sourcing of materials or services for in responsibility area by creating strong supplier base with the best terms.
• Responsibility for creation, maintenance, and execution of sourcing strategy in responsibility area
• Thorough understanding of suppliers’ technology roadmaps, global supply market and benchmarking against other industries/solutions
• Manage supplier selection process in responsibility area
• Manage and execute cost reduction activities with suppliers
• Lead supplier negotiations and keep agreements / price lists updated
• Plan, steer and develop supplier performance and relationships on continuous bases
• Ensure that activities meet all relevant regulations and legal requirements
• Maintain and follow-up supplier risk assessment and manage supplier risks mitigations
• Manage and drive resolution of supplier issues and involve other functions in issue resolution and supplier development as needed

A final role is defined considering a professional profile of a selected person. This is a permanent, full time employment contract and the start date is negotiable. This role requires readiness to travel globally frequently.

We have flexible remote work opportunities and the teams have collaborated to define tasks that require working on the site. In the Strategic Sourcing Team, we do hybrid work so it is possible to work partly remotely and work requires being present at our Vantaa site about once a week.

Requirements to be successful in this role:

• Demonstrated experience of working in global Sourcing/Procurement/Strategic Sourcing area, and experience of working directly with suppliers in an international environment
• Demonstrated IC/ASIC/semiconductor area experience and knowledge
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business or technical area
• Ability to influence people and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously
• Capability to lead cross-functional teams
• Self-driven professional to take ownership of own area
• Excellent English language skills

Experience with ASIC design and test software companies is a benefit.
